Solid and reliable infrastructure

We choose our technology very carefully, ensuring that it’s fast, reliable and secure. Our servers are kept in state-of-the-art data centres connected by an MPLS network. Each site provides us with at least 99.9% uptime and sufficient capacity for all of our SMS traffic. We use:

  • Secure, UK-based data centres
  • Cisco firewalls
  • SSL certificates with extended validation.

Patient opt-in (and out)

Patients are added to the service by an approved member of your team who will confirm they’ve explained to the patient what the service is, what will happen and what they need to do. The first message from Flo asks the patient for their consent to opt in. No other healthcare-based messaging activity will commence until this permission is received.

Patients can opt out at any time by replying or texting “STOP” to 66356.

The patient owns their own data

Members of different Florence Light teams, in different surgeries, clinical teams or healthcare organisations can share a patient’s data, but only with the patient’s permission. Consent can be requested from the app simply by entering the patient’s mobile number.

Your organisation’s Caldicott Guardian is the data controller.
